Leftholes are too often in error where the truth is concerned. They spin tapestries of insults, fantasies, and provable falsehoods to make themselves feel better by putting others down. The following liberal mind spew is apparently making its way around the internet like STDs in a California bathhouse…
THIS WAS ON A FRIEND’S PAGE: An anguished question from a Trump supporter: ‘Why do liberals think Trump supporters are stupid?’
THE SERIOUS ANSWER: Here’s what the majority of anti-Trump voters honestly feel about Trump supporters en masse:
THIS WAS ON A FRIEND’S PAGE: An anguished question from a Trump supporter: ‘Why do liberals think Trump supporters are stupid?’
THE SERIOUS ANSWER: Here’s what the majority of anti-Trump voters honestly feel about Trump supporters en masse:
That when you saw a man who had owned a fraudulent University, intent on scamming poor people, you thought “Fine.” (https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/onpolitics/2018/04/10/trump-university-settlement-judge-finalized/502387002/
RETORT: The business, which was a for-profit seminar, had success stories and satisfied customers. I have read that New York Attorney General, Eric T. Schniederman—not Judge Gonzalo Curiel— called Trump University fraudulent. He is entitled to his opinion. The cited article says nothing about intent, much less the intent to scam poor people. If this was mentioned in court documents, why not produce them? So, what we have is a business man who settled a lawsuit with no admission of wrongdoing per the cited article. Not exactly damning evidence. https://www.politico.com/story/2016/06/trump-university-success-stories-223785
That when you saw a man who had made it his business practice to stiff his creditors, you said, “Okay.” (https://www.thedailybeast.com/trump-hotel-paid-millions-in-fines-for-unpaid-work)
RETORT: According to one source, trump owns 500 limited liability corporations. Running one business is complicated and time-consuming. It seems unlikely that Trump personally managed each and every company he owned, much less monitored accounts payable for each one. Out of incalculable transactions spread across 500 LLCs, there are bound to be some problems. The Lefthole’s own article says, “In one case, a contractor reached an agreement after receiving a phone call from someone his attorney identified as ‘Trump.’” It additionally says, “The liens had both been previously reported. But their settlements had not. And the fact that they were handled right around the time when Trump took office—perhaps even at the behest of the then-president-elect himself…” This suggests that when Trump is personally involved, he pays his bills. The Lefthole’s article even says one of the people involved voted for Trump, and found Donald and Ivanka to be decent who people who were preoccupied (becoming the president could be preoccupying). https://www.nbcnews.com/business/taxes/what-trump-s-disclosure-his-500-llcs-can-can-t-n874391
That when you heard him proudly brag about his own history of sexual abuse, you said, “No problem.” (https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/list-trumps-accusers-allegations-sexual-misconduct/story?id=51956410)
RETORT: Paragraph 3, sentence 1 of the Lefthole’s article states, “Trump has vehemently denied all of the women’s accusations multiple times.” That is actually the opposite of proudly bragging about sexually abusing women. There is not one quote from the entire article about Trump making such boasts.
That when he made up stories about seeing Muslim-Americans in the thousands cheering the destruction of the World Trade Center, you said, “Not an issue.” (https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/fact-checker/wp/2015/11/22/donald-trumps-outrageous-claim-that-thousands-of-new-jersey-muslims-celebrated-the-911-attacks/)
RETORT: There were at least two celebrations in the Jersey City. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-7Tfb4n24Y There were videos of people cheering the attack in the Middle East. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KrM0dAFsZ8k There were eyewitnesses of people celebrating the attacks in the West. https://www.independent.co.uk/voices/september-11-twin-towers-world-trade-centre-new-york-i-knew-muslims-who-celebrated-naive-a7238081.html So, yes, Trump got it wrong. He didn’t make the story out of whole cloth. So, yeah, if it’s an issue, it’s not a big one.
That when you saw him brag that he could shoot a man on Fifth Avenue and you wouldn’t care, you exclaimed, “He sure knows me.” (https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2019/10/23/president-donald-trump-could-shoot-someone-without-prosecution/4073405002/)
RETORT: You’re really going to weep over a joke. A joke. Really? This is part of your damning claim?
That when you heard him relating a story of an elderly guest of his country club, an 80-year old man, who fell off a stage and hit his head, to Trump replied: “‘Oh my God, that’s disgusting,’ and I turned away. I couldn’t—you know, he was right in front of me, and I turned away. I didn’t want to touch him. He was bleeding all over the place. And I felt terrible, because it was a beautiful white marble floor, and now it had changed color. Became very red.” You said, “That’s cool!” (https://www.gq.com/story/donald-trump-howard-stern-story)
RETORT: Literally no one said, “That’s cool!” Also, Trump is a germaphobe. Which seems more likely. Trump was upset by the floor changing color… or Trump, a man repulsed by germs, was repelled by the prospect of the being in contact with bodily fluid? https://www.politico.com/story/2019/07/07/donald-trump-germaphobe-1399258 Which is more likely, Trump cared not at all for the plight of man who man, or he exhibited the Bystander Effect? https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/basics/bystander-effect
That when you saw him mock the disabled, you thought it was the funniest thing you ever saw. (https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2016-election/donald-trump-criticized-after-he-appears-mock-reporter-serge-kovaleski-n470016)
RETORT: First of all, Trump didn’t mock The Disabled (TM) as a group, he mocked one man who had a disability. Second, He didn’t mock the man’s disability, he mocked him for being flustered. “The incident in question is Trump supposedly mocking New York Times reporter Serge Kovaleski, whose hand and arm movement on his right side is impaired due to arthrogryposis. Video from 2015 seems to indicate that Trump was indeed cruelly imitating the man. But the media are too lazy and those suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome are too nasty and small-minded to look deeper. The truth is, Trump has often used those same convulsive gestures to mimic the mannerisms of people, including himself, who are rattled and exasperated. Why couldn’t the mainstream media look this up? Gavin McInnes of TheRebelMedia.com and Taki’s Magazine did, and he has the video evidence to show that Trump has a history of flailing his arms to make a point. It isn’t something he reserved for Kovaleski.” Do you think a grown man with a job at the New York Times needs your protection from being mocked for being rattled (not for his condition as you asserted)? How condescending of you. https://www.investors.com/politics/commentary/fake-news-trump-did-not-mock-disabled-reporter-and-other-lies-from-the-left/
That when you heard him brag that he doesn’t read books, you said, “Well, who has time?” (https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2018/01/americas-first-post-text-president/549794/)
RETORT: He had a business career with 500 companies *while* he had a media career as well. Then he became the president. You’re upset he’s not reading? Awwww.
That when the Central Park Five were compensated as innocent men convicted of a crime they didn’t commit, and he angrily said that they should still be in prison, you said, “That makes sense.” (https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2019/06/19/what-trump-has-said-central-park-five/1501321001/)
RETORT: That’s it? Trump disagreed with a court decision of guilt or innocence. Quickly, to the fainting couches! Why is this even here? “Oh, no! Trump… get this…has opinions about things! You know who else had opinions about things, don’t you? That’s right, Hitler! No! NO! NOOOOO!!!!”
That when you heard him tell his supporters to beat up protesters and that he would hire attorneys, you thought, “Yes!” (https://www.latimes.com/politics/la-na-trump-campaign-protests-20160313-story.html)
RETORT: After all of the violence and abuse directed at Trump and his supporters. Leftholes are scandalized, shocked, and befuddled that they might be push-back for their actions? It must be so… startling that the violence isn’t exclusively one-sided. One could call them on their selective outrage, but they would probably call it Whataboutism, because that’s easier than recognizing what’s happening on the Left.
That when you heard him tell one rally to confiscate a man’s coat before throwing him out into the freezing cold, you said, “What a great guy!” (https://www.independent.co.uk/news/people/donald-trump-orders-protesters-coat-is-confiscated-and-he-is-sent-into-the-cold-a6802756.html)
RETORT: Boo-hoo. Screw the Whataboutism. I’ll see your Take His Coat and raise you the following:
Here are a few gems from U.S. Representative for California’s 43rd congressional district, Maxine Moore Waters: “Already you have members of your cabinet that are being booed out of restaurants. We have protesters taking up at their house who are saying, ‘No peace, no sleep. No peace, no sleep.’”
“And guess what, we are going to win this battle, because while you try and quote the Bible, Jeff Sessions and others, you really don’t know the Bible. God is on our side.“
“And so let’s stay the course. Let’s make sure we show up wherever we have to show up. And if you see anybody from that cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd. And you push back on them. And you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere!”
U.S. Representative for Massachusetts’s 7th congressional district, Michael Capuano stated, “I’m proud to be here with people who understand that it’s more than just sending an email to get you going. Every once in a while you need to get out on the streets and get a little bloody when necessary.”
Representative Paul Kanjorski (Democrat) stated, “That Scott down there that’s running for governor of Florida. Instead of running for governor of Florida, they ought to have him and shoot him. Put him against the wall and shoot him.“
Representative Chuck Kruger (Democrat) stated, “Cheney deserves same final end he gave Saddam. Hope there are cell cams.”
The communications chair of the Democratic Party of Sacramento County, Allan Brauer, directed this to Ted Cruz staffer Amanda Carpenter, “May your children all die from debilitating, painful and incurable diseases.”
That you have watched the parade of neo-Nazis and white supremacists with whom he curries favor, while refusing to condemn outright Nazis, and you have said, “Thumbs up!” (https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2018/08/why-cant-trump-just-condemn-nazis/567320/)
Trump never curried favor with neo-Nazis and white supremacists. That assertion is utterly baseless. His son-in-law and daughter are Jewish, he supports Israel, and he appoints people of color to positions of power. If you think that is currying favor with neo-Nazis and white supremacists you might be—what’s the word— stupid?
Trump said, “The shooter in El Paso posted a manifesto online, consumed by racist hate. In one voice, our nation must condemn racism, bigotry and white supremacy… These sinister ideologies must be defeated. Hate has no place in America. Hatred warps the mind, ravages the heart and devours the soul.” https://www.cnn.com/2019/08/05/politics/donald-trump-mass-shooting-response/index.html
“Excuse me, they didn’t put themselves down as neo-Nazis, and you had some very bad people in that group. But you also had people that were very fine people on both sides. You had people in that group – excuse me, excuse me, I saw the same pictures you did. You had people in that group that were there to protest the taking down of, to them, a very, very important statue and the renaming of a park from Robert E. Lee to another name…. I’m not talking about the neo-Nazis and white nationalists because they should be condemned totally.” https://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2019/03/21/trump_didnt_call_neo-nazis_fine_people_heres_proof_139815.html
Trump said, “Racism is evil and those who cause violence in its name are criminals and thugs, including the KKK, neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and other hate groups.” https://time.com/4899810/donald-trump-charlottesville/
“President-elect Donald Trump is again distancing himself from the alt-right movement as its white supremacist members claim his election as a boon for their agenda… ‘I disavow and condemn them,’ Trump said Tuesday during a wide-ranging interview with staff members of The New York Times.” https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/donald-trump-disavows-alt-right-white-supremacists-950109
No one said, “Thumbs up!” That assertion is utterly baseless. You *want* that to be the case, but wanting it doesn’t make it so.
That you hear him unable to talk to foreign dignitaries without insulting their countries and demanding that they praise his electoral win, you said, “That’s the way I want my President to be.” (https://www.huffpost.com/entry/trump-insult-foreign-countries-leaders_n_59dd2769e4b0b26332e76d57)
RETORT: There are two approaches. The last guy had his shot with groveling, bowing, and ass-kissing for 8 years. We didn’t care for it.
That you have watched him remove expertise from all layers of government in favor of people who make money off of eliminating protections in the industries they’re supposed to be regulating and you have said, “What a genius!” (https://www.politico.com/agenda/story/2017/12/29/138-trump-policy-changes-2017-000603)
RETORT: I encourage people to check that link, see if it shows Trump removing expertise from all layers of government. What I saw showed positive achievements.
That you have heard him continue to profit from his businesses, in part by leveraging his position as President, to the point of overcharging the Secret Service for space in the properties he owns, and you have said, “That’s smart!” (https://www.usnews.com/opinion/articles/2018-03-05/how-is-donald-trump-profiting-from-the-presidency-let-us-count-the-ways)
RETORT: I know Trump is not collecting a dime from his salary as president. Instead he donates it. I know I’d rather have a multi-millionaire enter politics than see a politician become a multimillionaire on the salary of a senator or representative. I know the Democrats claimed the president violated the emoluments clause of the Constitution… and the case was tossed out of court. If Trump has done something illegal, where is the indictment? https://www.cnbc.com/2020/02/07/trump-wins-appeal-of-emoluments-clause-lawsuit-by-democrats.html
That you have heard him say that it was difficult to help Puerto Rico because it was in the middle of water and you have said, “That makes sense.” (https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/politics/wp/2017/09/26/the-very-big-ocean-between-here-and-puerto-rico-is-not-a-perfect-excuse-for-a-lack-of-aid/)
RETORT: “Puerto Rico’s ports were also devastated by the hurricane, effectively shuttering its primary points of entry. Shipping vessels full of vital supplies have arrived on the island, but with much of the handling equipment still disabled, their contents are stuck at port — outside the reach of the survivors who so desperately need them.” It’s not the distance, is it? It’s the access. Something that is less complicated with land access. Trump was right, the Lefthole was wrong. https://supplychainx.highjump.com/failed-recovery-efforts-of-hurricane-maria.html
That you have seen him start fights with every country from Canada to New Zealand while praising Russia and quote, “falling in love” with the dictator of North Korea, and you have said, “That’s statesmanship!” (https://www.cnn.com/2019/07/02/politics/donald-trump-dictators-kim-jong-un-vladimir-putin/index.html)
RETORT: “Countries who have historically been delinquent in meeting their NATO defense spending commitments will now be paying up, President Donald Trump said Thursday. They will now be contributing between $130 billion and $400 billion over the next three years.” This is not a bad thing. https://www.thecentersquare.com/national/trump-european-countries-starting-to-pay-their-fair-share-for-nato/article_cb675502-1858-11ea-af96-633937acdaeb.html
As for Russia, “After Russia invaded Ukraine in 2014, Ukrainian leaders desperately requested from President Barack Obama defensive anti-tank weapons systems that could fend off the invading Russian T-72 tanks in eastern Ukraine. In 2015, members of the Senate Armed Services Committee — Democrats and Republicans — encouraged Obama to grant this request to help Ukraine defend itself. Obama refused . Soon after coming into office, Trump changed course , and the Ukrainians now have Javelin anti-tank weapons systems from the United States. Russian tank drivers have a lot more to worry about today. The Trump administration has also replaced Obama’s reticence regarding U.S. troop deployments near Russia with a full embrace of the European Deterrence Initiative. In just more than two years in office, Trump has requested more than $17 billion for EDI compared with just $5 billion requested in Obama’s final three years in office. As a result, thousands of U.S. troops, along with other NATO allies, have deployed to Poland, the Baltics and Norway to deter further Russian expansion.” https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/trump-has-not-been-soft-on-russia-hes-been-tougher-than-obama/2019/03/28/08e88a04-5194-11e9-88a1-ed346f0ec94f_story.html
“With respect to Iran, China, North Korea and even Russia, Trump is taking tough stances. He is getting cozy with dictators because the man who considers himself an artist of the deal understands that those are the people he must strike bargains with.” https://www.nbcnews.com/think/opinion/trump-s-policies-iran-north-korea-russia-are-cleaning-messes-ncna1028626
That Trump separated children from their families and put them in cages, managed to lose track of 1500 kids, has opened a tent city incarceration camp in the desert in Texas – he explains that they’re just “animals” – and you say, “Well, OK then.” (https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/more-5-400-children-split-border-according-new-count-n1071791)
RETORT: “The Obama administration did not separate families as a matter of policy, as the Trump administration did as part of its ‘zero tolerance’ border policy in 2018, but separations occurred on a case-by-case basis for parents being prosecuted on more serious charges than illegally crossing the border or in cases when an adult was suspected of not being a child’s parent, according to CNN. Children were also placed in cages in some cases under the Obama administration, and Obama-era images of children in such structures have been mislabeled as occurring under the Trump administration on several occasions.” https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/461230-biden-incorrectly-claims-obama-administration-didnt-separate-families
That you have witnessed all the thousand and one other manifestations of corruption and low moral character and outright animalistic rudeness and contempt for you, the working American voter, and you still show up grinning and wearing your MAGA hats and threatening to beat up anybody who says otherwise. (https://www.americanprogress.org/issues/democracy/reports/2018/06/04/451570/confronting-cost-trumps-corruption-american-families/)
RETORT: Corruption? There have been 5 federal investigations. Investigation #1: The Senate Intelligence Committee launches an investigation Jan. 10, 2017. Investigation #2: The Senate Judiciary Committee launches an investigation Feb. 2, 2017. Investigation #3: House Intelligence Committee launches an investigation Mar. 1, 2017. Investigation #4: House Oversight and Government Reform Committee launches an investigation Mar. 22, 2017. Investigation #5: The Department of Justice Special Counsel launched a Russia investigation May. 17, 2017. Not one investigation found single crime to pin on Trump. Not one.
Low moral character? Well, clutch your pearls and put your wrist to your forehead. I want a strong president who gets things done, negotiates the hard deals, strengthens the economy, and stands up for America first.
What you don’t get, Trump supporters, is that our succumbing to frustration and shaking our heads, thinking of you as stupid, may very well be wrong and unhelpful, but it’s also…hear me…charitable. Because if you’re NOT stupid, we must turn to other explanations, and most of them are less flattering.
